To those who were close as family, friends or coworkers…So sorry for your loss of Gord or Dr Rust as I would use to simply address this kind soul. Met him as my new chiropractor when my family moved to Brandon in 2015. Such a great run business is Westman Chiropractic. I have been to probably 12 or more chiropractor offices over the years of moving around the province, and have never experienced any faster service than anywhere else. Christy, Victoria and Matthew. We were so sorry to hear of your loss. I started seeing Dr. Rust in the 90s and Garnet and Meagan also saw him. He was always so proud to talk about Victoria and Matthew and to show off their latest pictures or art on display.
Dr. Rust was a great chiropractor and very caring. My parents were visiting us in 97 and my dad asked if I could get him a chiropractor appointment as his shoulder was bothering him. Dr. Rust examined him and told him that when he returned home he should see his family doctor. The doctor found out he had cancer, which couldn’t be treated, but they could help him with the pain. When I thanked Dr. Rust he was very compassionate.
You all are in our thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourselves, and each other. Use every resource available to get through this.

We have the fondest of memories of Gord as a loving and ever-present father and supporter of his children over the years at the countless events that our children shared together. When Candice and I moved back to Brandon some 25 years ago, Gord was one of the first to reach out and extend a welcome to us. As a father, his support and wisdom was evident and admirable. As a husband, we saw a kinship and adoration for Christy that was unwavering. As a friend, he truly cared and was interested in the lives of those around him.
The world has so few gentlemen, that even the word "gentleman" has fallen out of favour. It is reserved for "chivalrous men, those who are courteous and honorable." The world lost one of its true gentlemen this week.

I first became a patient at Westman Chiropractic when my husband Wayne and I moved our family to Brandon in the late 90’s, then I had the pleasure of working for Gord. He was truly a wonderful caring man and a fabulous Chiropractor. He helped my family through so many injuries, with his knowledge and kindness, always taking the time to explain it in detail. A memory I will never forget was when my son came in for a regular visit and they talked hockey. My son was small for his age and this came up this particular visit, Gord then turned to him and said don’t worry Trevor you will grow and I’m guessing by the size of your feet, you’ll be either 6 feet or 6’1. I don’t think my son’s feet touched the ground on the way out of the office that day, and he thought about what Gord said often. This is the kind of impressions Gord had on people, and some I got to experience first hand. I will never forget this moment, and when I have think of it all those years ago I smile, and yes my son did grow between 6’ and 6’1.
It was a pleasure knowing you Gord.

Firstly, I want to express my deepest sympathies and condolences to the family and friends of Gord Rust. I have been a patient of Dr. Rust's since I moved to the Brandon area seven years ago. Walking into Dr. Rust's offices and seeing the many photos of his family was a beautiful thing to see. Dr. Rust not only helped me when my back issues would act up and I couldn't walk, but he was a big support during my issues with my employer. The last visit I had with him, I got to share the news of my engagement and he was genuinely happy for me. Dr. Rust is one of the only medical professionals I know who truly cared about the people that walked through the door at his office. His passing is a massive loss to the community.

I first met my friend Gord in grade two at J.R. Reid elementary school. We became instant friends and lived a stones throw away from each other. ( yes we tested that). I still smile and laugh when I remember our sleep overs playing tennis rackets as guitars while standing on either side of the shelving unit by the tv listening to Elton John. Our many games of kick the can and throwing a baseball to each other from opposite sides over the house. We shared many laughs and good times that I will forever cherish. Gord you were the kind of man that everyone loved. You always greeted people with that amazing smile and kind words. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

As a kid, I would want to stay at the Rust’s house if my parents were going away for a few days. I remember lots of good times playing board games, backyard adventures with cool action figures, and especially Gord(with Len’s help) very patiently teaching me how to play ping-pong. I enjoyed many social evenings with all three Rust kids and will cherish the memories. He was a really neat guy to grow up with and despite not being in touch regularly, I thought of him often. My deepest condolences go out to Dr. Rust’s family. I am so saddened to hear of his passing. He has been my chiropractor since the day he started practice. And an excellent one too. I am so sorry and shocked to hear that Dr. Rust had passed away. I have been seeing him now for 27 years, and had just been in last week to see him. I am very saddened to learn of Gord's passing. Several years ago, I had a number of symptoms that my doctor couldn't nail down and on his recommendation to see Dr. Gord I made an appointment. Gord listened to me and tried a few things to no avail. Based on his recommendation to my GP, some specific tests were done and I finally received a diagnosis. Such a great personality and he will be missed. My condolences to his family, staff, and patients.
