Brockie Donovan Funeral and Cremation Services

Celebrating Lives Well Lived

Brockie Donovan has been a vital care-giving member of the Brandon community for over 105 years. Our staff carries on the traditions begun so long ago, however we pride ourselves on not being limited by tradition. Many of our services are progressively modern.

Whether you seek the familiar traditional service, or wish to take a more unique, modern
approach, we assure you that our driving force has been, and will continue to be, dignified, personal and quality service.

The families we serve are always our top priority.  During confusing and concerning times such as the current COVID-19 event, we want to share our plans with you.  We want to assure you that we are all in this together.

First, we are closely monitoring and following all guidelines from the CDC, Provincial and National Health Authorities, and our Provincial and National Funeral Associations.

As of Friday, March 27, the Government of Manitoba has mandated that indoor or outdoor public gatherings must not exceed 10 people. We are prepared to offer families the choice of webcasting the funeral for remote viewing by family and friends or holding a private service at the time of death followed by a public memorial service at a later date.

We have set in place new measures to help protect and accommodate the elderly and members of the public. We will make every effort to accommodate families in making arrangements and conducting services in any capacity needed to ensure their safety and comfort while honouring their loved one.

Arrangements can be made remotely, either online or by teleconference. If your loved one's death is a result or suspected result of COVID-19, we kindly ask that you contact us by phone on how to proceed with making arrangements.

We are expanding our ability to webcast funeral services. We encourage leaving online messages of condolences to the family by accessing the obituary page of the loved one here on our website.

In an effort to minimize direct contact, we ask that you consider avoiding shaking hands or physical contact with the members of the family or other guests. Direct eye contact, loving words, and a warm smile can be as meaningful to the families as a traditional handshake or hug, especially during these difficult times.

Our large gathering spaces will be set up to allow social distancing.

We will be providing hand sanitizer stations throughout our facilities and have enacted extra cleaning in all public areas.

For over 105 years Brockie Donovan has been a trusted name in this community and today we stand by ready to help. We plan to remain open and will respond with professionalism, care and compassion in our mission to help families as they grieve and celebrate life.

We will guide your family in creating a meaningful ceremony to honour the life and memory of a loved one. A ceremony can be anything you wish it to be: simple or elaborate, traditional or unique.

Our Philosophy

No two funerals are the same. Each family we serve has unique and important needs that we strive to satisfy. By working closely with your family we can arrange a funeral ceremony that will express the special, one-of-a-kind relationship that you shared with your loved one and help enrich the memories that you will cherish forever.

We believe that you will only find this type of dedication from a local, family-owned funeral home. We’re pleased and proud to continue our tradition of compassionate service, from our family, to yours.

We hope that our site will be able to answer any questions you might have and we thank you for your interest in our funeral home.

We do our best to deliver service beyond expectation. Whether you come to us when your loved one has died, or when you want to make your arrangements in advance, we provide you with services tailored to your needs and desires. Our staff members are your caring friends and neighbors, who are active in your community, and ready to serve you and your family.

Maintaining a tradition of quality service is our top priority. It is our privilege to uphold that tradition while helping you in your time of need.

Count on our family to compassionately serve yours.

Our Community Events

  • Mother's Day
    Sunday, May 10, 2020

Traditionally Mother’s Day is a day to celebrate Mom. To acknowledge the love she has for her family. To thank her for her guidance, her strength and her ability to light up a room with her laughter. For those who have lost their Mother, wife, or a child, Mother's Day can be a difficult time. On Sunday, May 10th, Brockie Donovan will be handing out complimentary roses at Rosewood Memorial Gardens from 12 pm – 3 pm. Honour your Mom by laying a rose at her place of rest. Read more
